Ralph
Guzman is now living in Von Ormy, Texas, a small town, about
10 miles south of San Antonio. He was born in Laon,
France. His father Ramon Guzman was in the Air Force and
they moved frequently, living in Spain, Belgium and Germany
before moving to the United States.
His musical interest started when he was five years
old, when he started playing harmonica and by the next year,
was using his mother’s knitting needles for drumsticks, or
anything he could get his hands on for drums. At age
thirteen, while living in Spain, he joined a country and
western band and played at NCO clubs, parties and various
festivals. And by the eleventh grade, he was playing guitar
and singing. The talented artist also plays guitar, bass,
keyboards but says he loves drums the most. He is also very
adept at producing and engineering for himself, as wellas
other artists.
Ralph penned his first song in the early 80’s, and
has been writing every since. The 35 year old singer
songwriter says: “I enjoy writing because it is self
satisfying to have an idea come from the heart or one of
life’s experiences and then put it to music. But the
greatest satisfaction comes when someone tells you they can
relate to it.”
His musical influences
were Elvis, Beatles, Kiss, Doobie Brothers, Chicago, Eddie
Rabbit, George Strait, Bryan Adams, Journey, Skig
Ewing, AC/DC, which is easy to tell, by the various styles
he plays.
Ralphs talent and hard
work has given him the opportunity to open for such notables
as Eddy Raven, Gary Stewart, Steve Wairner, Pat Travers,
David Ball, Doug Stone, Johnny Lee and Lori Morgan.
This is Ralphs debut CD, but certainly not his last, as he
is already working on a second.
